Some of my favorite movies include the following: Snatch, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Pulp Fiction, The 39 Steps, Fever Pitch, and most of the old Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes movies. I love the old flicks that show up on such stations like TCM. I love the New York City-based crime mysteries with all the old cars, taxis, buses, neighborhoods. The old time way the guys dressed......hats, double-breasted suits, etc.

My favorite movie is Dances with Wolves.
But there are several other movies that I like: Field of Dreams, Fever Pitch, The Sandlot (1), For the Love of the Game, Bull Durham, Dead Poet Society, the Patriot, Brave Heart, Cold Mountain.
I can also enjoy simple children's movies made by Disney, especially the new Pixar movies.

"Dead Poets' Society" was great! I saw it again just a few nights ago........

Wow, what a tough question. My movie collection is the only thing that out rivals my cap and jersey collection. Some fav's include; Star Wars:A New Hope, Saving Private Ryan, Das Boot, The Natural, The Big Lebowski, The Last of the Mohicans, Casablanca, Kingdom of Heaven, Braveheart, The Hurt Locker, Slapshot, The 13th Warrior, Run Lola Run, Raiders of the Lost Ark. Theres more I'm sure, but these come to mind right now.
not my favorite movie, but it makes the group photo: "The Pope of Greenwich Village." it was, in my opinion, the only good movie Julia Roberts' kid brother ever made. it helped he played himself.
also in the off beat category: "Things To Do in Denver When You're Dead." Andy Garcia makes up for Godfather III, almost.

I thought Vincent Patrick's book was great and I enjoyed the movie. Looking back, you can see Mickey Rourke before he became a plastic surgery disaster (also see Body Heat, Diner).
A lot of fine character actors were in this flick too. Burt Young as mob boss "Bedbug Eddie" had a fun time.
Some have said that Quentin Tarantino could salvage Eric Roberts' career. I'll differ with therealmccoy, though -- Eric was also good in "Star 80" and "Runaway Train".
PS: In case any of you are wondering, no I'm not suffering a bout of insomnia...I'm in Japan!
