We here at BDM have long agreed that Gionfriddo's catch off of Joe DiMaggio was great--but did NOT save a potential home run. Guess what? Just like a different angle showed us that Jackie was safe stealing home in 1955, I found a newsreel that shows Gionfriddo's catch DID save a homer. Check out the catch at approx. 2:58 of this video......................

That is a great newsreel, Pete. I must admit that image certainly looks different from every other one I have seen.
