The Blue Jays have forced their way into a spot on our board. I have kept waiting, expecting the Jays to falter and it hasn't happened. Doc Holiday won his 8th game today and is gunning for another Cy Young award. The Jays of course still have a lot of games left with the Red Sox, Yankees, and Rays, but for now at least it is a 4 team race in the AL East.

The Blue Jays GM said that he would listen to offers for Roy Halliday. I wonder what they would ask in return for him?

Reports are that the Jays want 5 young players for him.

Red Sox and Angels are the rumored front-runners for Halladay.

Vernon Wells had surgery on his left wrist. Wells injured the wrist in 2008 after making a diving catch. Wells had the worst season of his professional career in 2009 and was in constant pain. He is expected to be ready for spring training.

A wrist injury is always iffy for a hitter. Anything to do with the hands or wrists. Roger Maris became a singles hitter after his hand injury.

Especially a power hitter. This revelation should ruin any chance, slim as it was of Toronto trading Wells.
