if you've ever been in Alabama for more than 15 minutes, chances are you have had someone tell you the Bear Bryant story. in recognition of tonite's BCS game, leave me relate the tale:
an Alabama football fan dies and goes to heaven. as he's passing thru the gates, he sees a tall man with a red checked sport coat and a pork pie hat, walking, actually walking across a lake. the fan turns to an angel and asks, "is that Bear Bryant?" the angel answers, "no, that's God, every once in a while he likes to pretend he's Bear Bryant."
