I only went to a few night games myself, but they always seemed special.

I keep going back to that picture and just looking at it. A masterpiece in my mind.

Going back to the picture above, if you look at the press box, there is a black box, with what looks like an H and E. I never noticed that before. Apparently the official scorer would use that to signal a hit or error. I knew there were lights on the Schaefer scoreboard that would signify a hit or error, but was never aware of the one on the press box.

Night games in New York were not that many even in the 50's. It was always special when my father took me to a night game at Ebbets Field.
