It seems like most of the literature on the Brooks concerns the post World War II era. I was wondering if there are any books on the Robins of the teens, 20's, and 30's. Specifically the "Daffiness Boys". I know the Dodgers weren't very good in the 30's but I was always intrigued by earlier Dodgers teams. I have the 120 year history of the team, but that is largely a history book, and I was looking for a book filled with more 1st person stories, and ancedotes. Any one have any suggestions? Thanks!

My suggestion would be "Seasons Past" by Damon Rice. This book is way underrated as a Dodger history.

Seasons past is a novel, an historical novel, but a novel just the same. A suggestion would be a membership in SABRm which gives you access to all the issues of The Sporting News. Many great pre WWII stories there.

Although Seasons Past is a novel, the main character evolves around all the early NY baseball history.

It is as far as I can tell historically correct, but novelists have a tendency and right to change facts slightly to help the story.
