Joe Jackson batting during a game at Polo Grounds on August of 1915, shortly before he was traded to the White Sox. This game was played Monday August 9, 1915 and would explain why the crowd is so small
I remeber going to the Polo Grounds to watch them play the Dodgers. The crowd was pretty much split 50-50 among Dodger and Giant fans. The Dodger games accounted for about 40% of the Giants home attendance, probably one of the selling points O'Malley used in convincing Stoneham to join him on the west coast.
