The connection between this team and the Brooklyn Dodgers is Sandy Amorós, who played for them in 1950. Other well-known major-leaguers played for this team, though: Orestes "Minnie" Miñoso and Rafael "Ray" Noble. Pat Scantlebury from Panama saw a little action with the Reds.
Two guys who never got a shot in the majors were Luis Tiant Sr., who was also an excellent pitcher, and Silvio García, the shortstop who supposedly told Branch Rickey that he'd kill any white man who hit him.
