I hope not.
They have signed Javier Herrera to a minor league contract. He seems to be a five-tool prospect. He is the kind of player scouts love. He runs well, hits for power and high average, throws well and covers a lot of ground defensively.

Now there is talk of the Yankees signing Vlad Guerrero to play right and shifting Swisher to left. Damon continues through Boras to play hard ball, and the Yankees continue to ignore him. If no other team comes forward, I expect the Yankees to make one take it or leave it offer to Damon. If that happens he would be a fool to turn it down.
. I know, the Yankees would have been better off signing Matsui, who has been productive. I still think Damon will be back, but who knows what his attitude will be. Boras has him believing he is just as valuable as Jeter and A-Rod.

Vladdy in right? Then the Yankees pitchers must pitch in such way that the balls will be hit directly to him. He can't run anymore. The person who came up with this rumour is insane .

You're right he can't run, but perhaps he has had some surgery. I would think if they sign Guerrero it would be to DH. I still expect them to sign Damon.

If they sign Damon, it will be for LF. Why else did they sign Nick Johnson for a year to DH? After the 2010 season, they will hunt for Carl Crawford. It is a player that I would like to have on my team, but I prefer him to stay with Tampa Bay.

The Yankees are now being said to be looking at Rick Ankiel to fill the hole in left. I still don't know why Nick Johnson was signed. While I concede that the Yankees are probably the front runners next year for Carl Crawford, that is still far from a done deal. The Rays will make a concerted effort to sign Crawford. One of the biggest questions for Crawford is whether he wants to play on artificial turf (The Trop), or real grass at Yankee Stadium.
