People who have read my posts probably think I'm a rolling on the floor drunk. Actually my chair has a seat belt and shoulder harness, so I don't fall out. My fascination with beer started way before i ever had a taste. The different local beers and their advertising in the old ballparks always fascinated me. Even today, when I see amention of Schaeffer Beer, I always think of the Brooklyn Dodgers and likewise whenever I hear Ballentine Beer I think of the New York Yankees and Mel Allen When I was searching around for a ballgame late at night on my transistor radio and heard an ad for Iron City Beer I had found the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bob Prince. Share your memories as well. Now just about every ballpark minors and majors has a great big Budweiser sign and only selld Bud products. It didn't used to be that way.

National Boh was the Washington Senators' radio sponsor in the 1950s and early 1960s. Berger Beer sponsored the Reds in the early to mid 1960s when I was in college in Ohio.

Didn't National Boh also sponser Baltimore Orioles game?

I'm pretty sure you're correct. It might have been after the first Senators left for MN.[/quote]
After exhaustive research, I have found that National Brewing Company, the makers of National Bohemian Beer was the Orioles first sponser in 1954, and put up the scoreboard with a large Nat Boh ad on it. National Brewing was also sponsering the Washington Senators. In 1957 Gunther Brewing Company took over sponsership of Orioles games. In 1959 Hamm Brewing Company bought Gunther and Hamm started sponsering Orioles games in 1960.

Leave it to the pro to come up with all the correct details.
I guess tony really does know his beer. Those are nice ads from Rheingold, Polo grounds. I really like the one with Leo Durocher. I bet Tony will love that one.
