On eBay there is an interesting 5 1955 World Series wire photos item for sale. Item number is 270209175332. I always thought Campy was a pretty good defensive catcher; interestingly, 2 of the 5 photos show him dropping the ball trying to apply a tag to the incoming runner.

I own and currently display (in my "baseball room) many wire photos (with the explanations on the back) in frames, photos from the New York Dailies..........cool stuff. When I bought them (in the '70's), they were very cheap.

That is a great find, Number 4. Thanks for posting it Pete. In answer to your question Number 4, about Campy dropping the ball, Campanella had very bad hands from injuries, It is understandable that he would have trouble holding on to the ball. In his last couple of year, when there were no runners on base, he would just stop the ball with his glove and let it drop in front of him. Thats how sore his hands were.
